Matt and Donna Dyson of MaD CrossFit will be staying with us for the next couple months, until they move to New Zeland to start a CrossFit overseas. They are highly experienced coaches with much to offer us in terms of technique improvement. Welcome them and learn from them.
Two outstanding performances on Isabel, 30 Power Snatch 135 for time, from http://games2009.crossfit.com/. The competition is fierce!

Will miss the 8amers today...own CF WOD at home...shoveling red cinder into our yard and moving lava rocks. Maybe I should do it for time. If not too bad I'll show up this afternoon as I need to work on my weakness (OH squat). Have a good one 8amers!

CrossFit One World has a video of Travis crushing "Diane" on their daily blog.

Travis, you are a CrossFit Celebrity. They took your log book to sell it on ebay.

Yeah, that was a dumb idea. Its too close to be doing 3 a days. Should have thought of that a month ago. I will not be able to relax until after that first run is out of the way. After that, I will be in the zone. I am looking forward big time to coaching our team. I think we can do well in these events.

I have a brand new shade tent that you're more than welcome to use. It's the kind with screen sides which may not be what you want... or it may be perfect if there are bugs. Maybe use it as a nap tent or food storage tent?
Let me know if you want to use it. And good luck to Justin Riley Saturday and the men & women of the Affiliate Cup Team Friday.
Justin Arnest, make Placer proud!

What is the best way to communicate with the CrossFit East Sac group as a whole in real time? Let's say I wanted to ask "Who wants to go out and get some pizza, beer and chocolate cake after the games?" The CFES blog is good but does everyone check it? What if it is a last minute idea like "Holy Cow it's dollar hotdog and beer night at Old Iron Sides for the next two hrs." Does anyone use Twitter? How about a mass txt message? Would anyone be interested in a CrossFit East Sac photo album? Maybe we can have all members make a CrossFit Leader board page with pic and we can print them out and put them in a centrally located book. This way we can cheer on the new members and not have to call them "guy". What does everyone think? Sorry for the long post. I just had two Steven Segal Energy Elixers!

Dude! Lay off the sauce!!!
Seriously though, can you guys just use the website to communicate this weekend? That way the unfortunate group of us who can't attend can keep in touch...
As far as the picture thing, that's what we do at work...maybe after the newbies complete their fundamentals we could add them to an electronic picture board??? Justin, can we add that to the list of things for you??? In all seriousness though Dave, your spirit for this thing is great. Thanks for initiating great ideas.

Dave, what was it Travis said about you this a.m.? Something like he would love to know what kind of conversations you have with yourself? God bless you for the high entertainment value! Gia, awesome job this early a.m. - as usual!!

Good ideas Dave, maybe a board of pictures on a wall somewhere? I hope you can make it down for at least part of the event, it'd be great to see you.

Dave, we LOVE you, man! Unstoppable energy! I'm addicted to text messages and the CFES blog, so either work for me! We'll be blogging at night over the weekend, and will keep everyone updated on the Games.
Team CFES - I can't wait! We're going to have another fantastic weekend together in Aromas. Dave W, you'll be there with us in spirit! (Or, you could just quit your fellowship...those aren't that important anyways, right?!!?!)
Thank you, thank you, thank you to our amazing coaches Justin, Travis, Tom, & Brooke!

Great idea Dave. I'm a big fan of twitter...automatically updates to cell phones/computers with notifications and allows anyone to send updates via text. Let's do it. Who wants to make the account?
Who else is going to watch? I can't make Friday, but definitely want to catch at least one or two days. Good luck everyone!

I love the idea Dave...I'm not a twitter user but would be to get CF updates. I'm also all for the photo idea. I use Costco to post my pictures but would need everyone's email address to share. I'd sign up for something else if it works better though. In the meantime, if anyone wants to see the CF pictures I have so far, post your email address or send yours to cherie.nabeta@oracle.com.

I have WAY too much nervous energy right now...
For the twitter idea, I wonder if there is internet access anywhere on the Games site.
Posted by: Tom Ellison | July 08, 2009 at 10:33 PM
All- Twitter would be good for short messages and if everyone was on it would be a breeze.
Posted by: Roger | July 09, 2009 at 04:53 AM
Twitter is G-A-Y
Posted by: Justin Riley | July 09, 2009 at 07:37 AM
Tom, people with smartphones will be able to get onto the internet/twitter.
