Kettebell Swing 53/35
Box Jump 24"/20"
Push Ups
The top 3 men were Miko Salo, Tommy Hackenbruck, and Moe Kelsey. For the women it was Tanya Wagner, Charity Vale, and Carey Kepler. Our local favorite Jason Kahlipa placed 5th after he struggled badly on the run and ranked in dead last after the very first event. It was an amazing comeback to be able to make it to the second day and an outstanding second day to have finished in 5th. Jason was awarded the "Spirit of the Games" award, it was amazing to see in person the amount of heart this guy has. Big congrats to Blair Morison who finished 7th in the men's. Blair had stopped by in the week before the games and kicked our asses at a couple WODs, so it was awesome to see him up there with the world's fittest. In the women's event, local favorite Jolie Gentry of CrossFit One World took 7th place and is the only female to have placed in the top 10 at all three CrossFit Games.
The competition was long and grueling. It was by a long shot the farthest, the hardest, and the most diversified challenge that CrossFit has ever pushed its athletes through. You have a long endurance event to start off, followed by a pure strength event, followed by a pure sprint uphill with weight, followed by a WOD that involved pounding 4ft stakes into the ground, followed by a light weight high rep mid length killer. Day two started off with CrossFit's most techincal movement, a max weight snatch, then went to a 8 minute AMRAP with the feared gymnastic movement the handstand push up, GHD situps, and a heavy KB swing. The final workout was an insane chipper that took 20-30 minutes involving, heavy squat clean, box jumps, DB push press/jerks, muscle ups, double unders, pullups, heavy thrusters, burpees, and walking lunges with weight overhead. It was painful and awe-inspiring to watch. All of the 16 men and women who finished this competition were pushed to the ragged edge of what a human being can do. We witnessed peoples bodies completley give out on them followed by the athlete getting back on their feet and continuing to endure the agonizing pain of pure intensity. The event was so brutal and so broad in time and modal domains that without a doubt, the athletes that made it though the entire event have a legitimate claim to the top 16 fittest men and women on the planet. No words can describe the intensity we witnessed on the ranch this past weekend.

Justin, Ditto to everyone's comments on last night's/early morning's post. You inspire all of us to attempt things we never thought we could, and you are brilliant physically, mentally and inspirationally. The same goes for Travis and the rest of the Affiliate Team. Thank you!

To all who took pictures/video of the week please burn the media to a cd or dvd and get it to me as soon as you can so I can share everything with everyone else. www.flickr.com is a great place to share the photos also. It is free and you can just upload them for us to view and download. This would be great also if you can't get in here for a few days.

This morning's WOD showed one of my many weaknesses, BOX jumps! Thanks Travis and Brian for getting me through! I had a rough go of it, but finished (didn't think I would on round 3)!!!
I was looking at Anne's list of things to improve on and was thinking are you kidding me?? My list is gonna keep me busy for a very long time!!!

Great job to all that went the Games. You all are true firebreathers.
Roger: You kepted with it even though you thought you were seeing MR. PUKIE. He did not rear his ugly head so you were ok. Way to push your body when it did not want to be pushed.

Did this one from home with the wife. 21" vice 24" box jumps and I didn't go overhead on my KB swings, an admitted weakness, but otherwise as rx'd at 11:42.

Way to go on the home WOD, but lets get the hang of the American swing, we are not Russian.

Jen - great pics! Especially of the affiliate WODS! Justin - you looked strong on the DL. Nice PR... maybe we don't need as much rest as we think we do? Naugh!
