Here is what we know about the events of the Affiliate Cup on Friday:
Each team consists of 3 men and 3 women. Our team is Travis Cassidy, Justin Arnest, Tom Ellison, Loren Feil, Brooke Kiefer, and Anne Harty. Each event will require only 2 men and 2 women to participate. The team will compete in the following 3 events on Friday and the top 5 teams will compete in the final event on Sunday.
Hill Workout - Our team competes at 10:00 AM
2500m (approximately) Hill run relay
***This is on the same nasty hill from the Games last year and the Qualifier this year. Each team member will run the a lap up the big hill (500m) as a relay. When the last teammate finishes their lap, the entire team will run a lap together.
North Pad Workout - Our team competes at 12:00 AM
3-rep Overhead Squat plus
Max total pull-ups in 3 attempts
***With one pull up bar, one set of weights, one squat rack and a barbell the team will have 20 minutes to find a 3 rep max overhead squat and each attempt 3 sets of max rep pull ups. The score will be the sum of the teams 3 rep maxes plus the 12 sets of pull ups (3 from each team member)
Stadium Workout - Our team competes at 2:00 PM
30 Wallballs (20lbs/14lbs)
Row 300m
30 Box jumps (24")
30 KB swings (24kg/16kg)
30 DB Push press / Push jerk (40lbs/25lb)
30 Deadlifts (225lbs/135lbs)
***Each teammate will complete wall ball one at a time with the men going first. As soon as all 4 members have completed wall ball, they spread out to the next 4 exercises and rotate when everyone has finished. When each teammate has done each of those 4 exercises once, the entire team moves to deadlifts. The men will each do their deadlifts and then the women. There is only one barbell per team and the team must change the weights after the men finish from the mens R weight of 225 to the womens Rx weight of 135.

Despite the fact that Justin R. says Twitter is "GAY" I think we should all sign up so we can communicate in real time with each other. When you are at work you can turn the txts/Twitter off. We can also impose burpee penalties for ridiculous txts. I sympathize with Justin and refuse to call the group txts sent from Twitter "Tweets". Good luck down there.
My twitter login is DavoWright. Hurry and sign up before all the normal names are gone. Justin R if you hold out too log you might get stuck with SassyTinkerbell69.

My life thus far has not involved any of the My Twit Face whatever, but I guess rules can change because if I can get CFES updates and stay connected with you fine people then I'm willing to do it. This is a cult, ya know...

alright, at the risk of being way too metrosexual, my new twitter tag is " paharty ". I will try to update what is going on from the Crossfit Games, so if you want frequent updates, add me in to your twitter.
Posted by: Pat H. | July 09, 2009 at 11:19 AM
Can we have one person agree to "host the updates" or create a CFES account that we can all follow? Just a thought. I'll be sure to follow you guys. Mine is "kagawers". Dave and Pat, I couldn't find yours.
Today's workout was awesome and just added motivation for me to lose weight. Thanks to Ginormous Rob for the encouragement.

I wasn't planning on creating a new account on Twitter but I'll do it for Crossfit!! My twitter username is "SatinKhera".

GOOD LUCK and SUCCESSES to all representing CFES at the Games!!! In looking at the workouts shown, our affiliate TEAM should represent well. Wish I could be there...as the Regionals were incredible, I could only imagine what the Games will be like in person. Kevin (son) said he should be going, and he'll root you all on for me...and keep me posted. AND, Justin.......go for IT!!!!
See you all back on Monday.

NOOOOOOOOOO! I can't believe it. You all are getting sucked into the twat fad. I am surrounded by twits. I can't believe that my crossfit gym spawned an outbreak of twatface. You will have to check out pats updates. I will not be participating in this bafoonery.
Posted by: Justin Riley | July 09, 2009 at 05:28 PM
bafoonery? love that word. I miss you guys!!!! I wish I were there RIGHT now. instead im staring at the clock waiting for it to strike 11. i will be there with a redbull in hand and my pink tank on ready for you guys! lets do it!!! tom, justin and travis did you guys get pink tanks too? Love those cut-offs! and the winners are.......
twitter is like the worst name for that site.
Posted by: Brooke Kiefer | July 09, 2009 at 06:23 PM
I think the advantage of Twitter is that anyone can update at anytime and it goes to everyone. So making one person responsible for the update(s) is really not necessary.

Oh Shit! I just realized that Justin R is going retrogrouch on us! Holy crap. You are too young for that dude! Leave that shit to me!!!

Good luck to all CFES "Superstars"--you guys will rock this weekend!!!
