EMOTM 8 Minutes:
2 Box Jumps 42/36
8 DB Push Up Renegade Rows 45/30
Location Page/Directions
There will be no parking here tomorrow, no exceptions. The antique dealers do all of their business on weekends and they will tow your car if you park in their lot. The yoga studio if we share the back parking lot with is very busy on weekends, and they will have a fit if they can't park near their building. Plan to find street parking. The green line along Elvas Ave is the best place to park and hike in. You are CrossFitters and you are tough not lazy, so please just park a few blocks away and take a nice little walk to loosen up your legs.
Also if you did not by a ticket, you will not be allowed into the event. This event is at capacity. Because so many athletes are competing there simply is not enough space for more spectators.

Good luck tomorrow CFES, I'll be thinking of you as we drive back from SoCal.

Also, don't park in the three business parking lots on Elvas/56th (Starbucks, Sac Mag, and the parking lot with the green awnings across from Sac Mag).. THEY WILL TOW YOU. They are parking Nazi's over there.

Hey Justin-
Just a couple questions about the competition:
Can I park in front of CFES? Can I wear running shoes? Is it possible to change our heat time? Since Brian and I are tall, can't we just use the 8' tennis balls? I am planning on pausing between the front squat and the push press to re-grip, that will be OK, right? Do triple unders count for double or 1.5? if a single under is immediately followed by a triple under, that would count for 2 double unders Rx, Right? How long is the run? What is the tie breaking round? Can our spotters change the GHD settings for us while we rest? And last, can we wear pads on our chest for the chest to bars, that would really help.
Thanks!

Xenia.. the Ivy House parking lot is the worst. They're assholes. If they see you park in that lot and leave their little shopping center, your car is done for lol.
Matt, your comment is full of win. lol.

Funny Matt. Hey, think I'll have an extra spectator ticket for tomorrow. Let me know if any interest. I'll be there volunteering most of the day!

John, I know that Justin A is looking for one.

I think we can park across the street from Fremont Pres. Church (far end of Scottish Rite)at the entrance of River Park. That is what I am going to do, and then walk over. I will park around 9 and then walk over...
Posted by: Angela | February 12, 2010 at 06:17 PM
John, my dad would like to come if your extra ticket is still available.

I have ben told that my question have now disqualified "Team CrossFit in the Future" and that I have to do burpees to get back in.
Hey, Justin, On the burpees to get back into the throwdown, can I do those at home? Should I do them regular, or do I need to set up a tennis ball? If I have to set up a tennis ball, can I set it at 8 feet since that is the height we asked to use for tomorrow? If I don't have a tennis ball at home, can I use a basketball instead?
Posted by: Matt P | February 12, 2010 at 06:35 PM
Oh and do these burpees count toward our score for tomorrow?

Matt, I should show you some of the emails I have been getting. You think your post is funny now, wait till I show you how accurate your parody really is. Maybe all the people from the other places are just jerking my chain too.

Hilarious, Matt!! I started reading the comment before I saw who wrote it, and I was thinking, "who IS this stupid a#* hole?!"!!
I'm soooooooooo excited for tomorrow! Remember everyone, it's not just about winning, it's about having a great time!.....yeaaah....and maybe a little about winning!

Anybody want to go out and see a great cover band and get wasted tonight. I have PR'ed many of the benchmarks as well as a 10K run severly hung over and qualified for the CF Games while drinking Margaritas and Beer both nights before competing. My theory is that you don't want to change your habits right before a comp. Changing your habits will throw off your chemistry and your performances will suffer. If you usually booze it up on Friday nights, don't go sober tonight, I am telling you.

Just got back to check the site...Pat H, I'll give you first priority if you still want the extra ticket for your dad. I'll be there between 8:30 and 8:45 to help set up...then most of the day. Let me know.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow!

Matt: Don't worry Cherie was hitting the 8 foot mark on the wall in our kitchen to make sure she could do it. So, Team CF in the Future has gotten a head start. :)
Posted by: Brian | February 12, 2010 at 08:43 PM
Y'all know the Nabeta house has marks for wall balls in the kitchen, right?
Posted by: Matt P | February 12, 2010 at 09:45 PM
Justin - I know you are busy so I came up with answers to Matt's FAQ's:
1) Can I park in front of CFES? Absolutely! Just find the tall Asian guy and give him $25 and you'll be fine. Please note that CFES is NOT liable for damages to your car if it is jumped on for warm up.
2) Can I wear running shoes? If you don't give the tall Asian guy $25 you should.
3) Is it possible to change our heat time? Absolutely! Just find the tall Asian guy and give him $25 and you can start the WOD in the parking lot next to your car any time you want.
4) Since Brian and I are tall, why can't we just have 8' balls? See Jaime and Cherie for clarification.
5) I am planning on pausing between the front squat and the push press to re-grip, that will be OK, right? Absolutely! As long as you don't go below parallel on your squat and you keep your ears hidden on your push press, you'll be fine.
6) Do triple unders count for double or 1.5? If a single under is immediately followed by a triple under, that would count for 2 double unders Rx, Right? See Cherie's Excel spreadsheet for calculation.
7) How long is the run? See map above.
8) What is the tie breaking round? Park at CFES, change your heat time, have your GHD setting changed and get silicone implant referral (see below for details). All 4 team members must complete to be considered Rx.
9) Can we wear pads on our chest for the chest to bars, that would really help. Absolutely! But silicone is recommended. See the tall Asian guy for a $25 referral.
10) If you have any further questions, see Captain of the CrossFit in the Future Team (tall Asian guy) to review his Operations Manual for only $25.
Oh, and Matt - just come on over for your burpees. We'll give you a discount on the tennis balls...only $20 since you are part of the team.
