Good luck to Corey and Liz. U guys will do awsome. Justin u were awsome in planning and executing yesterdays TD. Things ran smoothly. Judges were well trained. It was an awsome day. I am one tired old geezer. My body is in shock. It was a great event. There were some unbelievable athletes. If I was only 30 years younger. Next year volunteer.

Pete H

Good luck Cory and Liz!

Thank you Justin for again hosting a great event. It was the highest density of controlled chaos I've ever seen and it flowed beautifully. You were a great MC, and your and Blair's programming was simply amazing. You guys obviously put a tremendous amount of thought into the workouts and it showed.

Each of the three workouts contained a large component of the unknown, from not knowing about the exercises until just before they started to in many cases not having done the activities before. That was terrifyingly thrilling. I felt triumphant when overcoming adversity, and utterly crestfallen when defeated by it. Physically I spent the rest of the day feeling like I was recovering from surgery.

And thanks to my fellow Geezer teammates! Lesley, don't volunteer next year---we have to defend our #1 position (of sorts) until some other group has the guts to topple us :)

Olga B

Good luck Cori and Liz!
As scary as it sounds I am thinking maybe joining you next year. Even thinking about competition makes me sick. That is why I am so proud of all our teams - you're so brave. Lesley and Pete H. thank you for the update.

I hope Brooke, Loren , Cherie and the rest are able to move today. Waiting for your posts, girls... Dead sea bath salts might help :)

Randy Riley

Justin can really be proud of himself and all the volunteers. Fabulous event! Extremely well organized and well run. Extreme effort by all the participants. Justin is destined for greatness. (And yes, I am prejudiced.)

Brian

A big thank you to Justin. Thank you to Blair for the great programming with Justin. Thank you to all the volunteers. Thank you to the CFES family who was there rooting everyone on. Thank you to our cFES coaches: you guys are the greatest!

Go get 'em cori and Liz!

Cherie Nabeta

Go get it Cori and Liz! B is jealous that he's not competing with you but admits there's no way he would be able to today.

Ditto everyones comments about the success of the event. All day yesterday I felt pretty lucky to be a part of it and thankful to Justin, Blair, our coaches, the volunteers and the CF community for allowing us to participate and witness the sickness we saw yesterday. It amazes me how far CF has come in the past year and what incredible athletes we have in just our area alone.

Now onto the pain...bruised from dropping a barbell during Turkish get up and yes sore but a bit uneven since I left my stupid side out of my Turkish get up, snatch and pistols. Glad that my back held despite almost subbing out on Wednesday.

Already looking forward to next year...and the new location. Will continue the SHT til then as I think it was a huge help to prepare for this.

Bryan Turner

Thank you Justin, Blair, the volunteers and Jesus. Participating in the event was the most humbling experience in memory. I was so out of my league it was ridiculous; like bringing a knife to a gun fight. Exhilarating, exhausting and embarrassing (I fell on my face not once but TWICE during the sled pull!). Great job Pete, Carol and Leslie; we're going to look fabulous in those Geezer Volunteer t-shirts next year!

Jenna

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Yesterday was amazing! The event was so professionally organized and the competition was inspiring and unbelievable. What was it, a 150 cm box jump? Really?!?!?! Not to mention ALL that weight picked up off of the floor. Great job everyone, what a stellar event packed full of solid athletes (and volunteers!)!

Sean V.

It was some of the most fun I've had in a long time. You know how to put on an event! Seriously can't wait for next year! The competition was fierce and intense! Definitely volunteering next time.

Anyone in the area of Fulton and Hurley that has a lacrosse ball I can borrow? My knee is acting up and I left mine at home. I need to mash out this pain.

John Michelmore

Congratulations to all participants yesterday at the Throwdown! Everyone was amazing. Justin, nice event, hats off to you for pulling this one off seamlessly...I can hardly talk today after all the yelling yesterday!

Cherie Nabeta

While burning a disc for Justin, if you don't mind, please burn an extra one for me? I didn't get many and would like to use for a poster for the box and the CFES 2011 yearbook (and possibly a jib jab video).

Oh crap here we go again with the bobble heads.

Harlan Karnofsky

That was so much fun, wanna do it again before my joints need replacing. And that could be very soon if i snatch more weight than my max overhead squat again.

Ryan Lippmann

Justin, Blair - thank you both for a great event. being my first "competition" i had no idea what it would entail, it was amazing to say the least. i can only imagine how much planning, coordinating, logistics, financials, etc. you guys had to deal with, and it showed! great job!

Looking forward to the next one and next year!!!

Roger

Totally ridiculous event! So much suffering and so much fun! They keep getting better and better!

Carol Penney

Cori and Liz - hope you had a great event today, didn't you both volunteer all day yesterday? That was a work out in itself! Thank you to all the volunteers, you guys were all GREAT! Never have been a part of such unbelievable controlled chaos. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! Ditto for all the kudos above. Great workouts and really good job of scaling. We are really blessed to be a part of CFES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hollis Reilly

I heard from a little bird that Liz and Cori did awesome today. I would expect no less from two ladies who seem to have a threshold for pain that is off the charts.

I've spent all day trying to think of something to write about yesterday's amazing event, but I can't seem to put the words into meaningful sentences. All I know is that it was better than expected, flawless, crazy, crazy fun, painful, challenging, rewarding, exciting, nerve wrecking and all around awesome. I walked away feeling tired, thrilled, satisfied, thankful, and extremely proud of those who competed, volunteered, watched, cheered, cleaned, coached, nursed and most of all organized. The end.

Jennifer R.

Yesterday was splendiferous. The combination of complexity and energy was unlike anything I had ever experienced. Almost everyone I saw was amazingly supportive and positive toward everyone else. Seeing Justin and all the competitors put all they had out there was....yeah. Splendiferous.

Speaking of which, we want details! Not only of yesterday but of Cori and Liz today! You two are F**KING awesome for just showing up for those crushing WODS! I can't wait to hear what it was like!

Big Rob, what's up with the "bobble head" comment? Please explain for me and the other slow kids in class...

Memo O

Yesterday was an AWESOME!!! Justin, Blair Thank you very much for the opportunity to be a volunteer and experienced a great day!!!!! Cori and Liz good luck!!!

Holly (Big rob's other half)

@ Jennifer Rob says the bobble head comment is in reference to Cherie's jib jab videos. that are so well loved :)

Jennifer R.

Thanks Holly! I think that's #20. No Burpees!

Steller

Thanks so much to Justin and the volunteers for putting on an amazing event. I can't even begin to imagine how much work that was to organize and run, but from the competitors' point of view, everything was flawlessly executed. I can't wait to do it again!

annie

Thank you so much to CF East Sac and all of the volunteers for your gracious hospitality and a kick ass event yesterday.
Justin, that was a first class throwdown, and you should be very proud of your efforts and your success. You have a stellar crew up there, and they take their lead from you.
Thank you again for a great day--we look forward to next year!
annie and the crew from CF Santa Cruz Central

Paul O'Donnell

Justin - fantastic event, epic fun! I've seen endless vids but the energy and sense of community don't come through. I guess there's nothing like the real thing.

Hope I can compete some time. Otherwise, any time you need a volunteer or judge count me in.

Thanks again!
