Is ring pull-ups really scaling? That seems like an extra challenge since the rings move and a regular pull-up bar is stationary. Cherie, you always inspire me - it never fails. You rock!

Just got a chance to watch the video- nice. Not sure I would call ring pull ups scaling so much as Rx+.
What are the details on tomorrow? Be there by 7:30, do we have an idea of when we might be done? What if we are over 40 and xfitting less than 18 months, do we choose novice or master, get placed in one or the other or get to compete in both? Also, I am hearing rumors about the WODs . . . I am not saying what the WOD I have heard about is, but it seems like I may have to retroactively bribe Travis with cash or other favors (I like to run and row).

Alight, its time to call BULLSHIT!!!!
I have seen a bunch of awesome athletes skipping the heavy rope double unders everytime they are in the WOD or warm up. Each time I hear "op, can't do them, I'll just do twice as many heavy rope single unders... "
Well bullshit. This morning Angela was the only 8am member to even try. She did great, did 10 per round. Did it affect her time? Yep. Was it hard? Yep. But Angela knows how to check her ego and do the work.
I don't know what happened at 6am or noon, but I'm betting that there were a couple of bad asses that did single unders.
I'm saying be like Angela. Grab the heavy rope and figure it out. There was a day when regular double unders were hard, right? But people get over it.
By the way- this BULLSHIT also applies to the Muscle Up wods. I keep
Seeing people (BroMike) post awesome times on MU wods without ever even trying a muscle up.

1- just for reference the heavy rope actually weighs one Angela (an Angela is a standard weight of measurement equivalent to the soaking wet weight of Angela F.- the heaviest kettlebell in the shed actually weighs exactly 1 Angela for anyone wanting to do a KB swing with an Angela).
2- one of my resolutions for 2012 is to get a muscle up, if I dont get one tomorrow. this will be aided by another resolution- to weigh less than Justin claims to . . .

MattP makes a pretty good CrossFit chaperone and usually gets me to go heavier, higher and faster then I would have so listen up when he calls BS and give the heavy rope DU's a shot!
