Stop by the front desk with 5 bucks and support Cori P's, RPAL program. In case you didn't know, RPAL is helping me put on the Sac-Town Throwdown this year. RPAL is a non-profit organization working to build positive relationships between youth, police officers, and the community through a variety of recreational, athletic, social, and cultural activities and programs. RPAL has recently added CrossFit Kids to their programming to aid in the fight against childhood obesity.
Raffle prizes include hotel/spa packages, Kings tickets, gift certificates to local sporting good stores and CF online apparel stores, wine tasting tours, local resturaunts, private coaching sessions, and many more goodies to come. 5 bucks, helps the kids, and you can't lose. Raffle will take place at the Sac-Town Throwdown. You do not have to be present to win.
Volunteers
I have about 35 volunteers. That will work for Sunday, but I need about 100 total volunteers on Saturday February 11th. If you are available, please sign up. I won't lie, it is going to be a long tough day on volunteers for a free ticket, a t-shirt and food, but the event can't take place without you. Please support our event and register to volunteer today.
Note: There is no fee, no judge certification process, and there will be no meeting prior to the event like previously mentioned.

Wish I could help, I am working on Saturday. I would donate a prize if you need more prizes.

Can anyone enlighten me about Sunday? Is there anything that I should bring besides a shovel to dig my own grave? Any special tips anyone wants to pass along?

Am I signed up to volunteer, Justin? I thought I signed up around the time we had team try-outs. I can be there Saturday and Sunday to help out.

Ha ha, dawn! I'm right there with u! ;)
I would also love to hear from some of the seasoned competitors what to bring for an event where ur basically doing 7 wods throughout the day. What I've managed to learn so far is to bring lots of fruit, easily digestable protein (protein powder) and coconut water.
From the one other all-day comp I did, I would say, bring stuff to fix ur hands if/when they rip: tape and scissors. And I seem to recall some ppl with pillows to rest in btwn ... Or I could've just imagined that once the delirium started to set in! :)

Donna, I'd suggest a camping/folding chair, tall socks for shin protection and possible rope climbs, a foam roller if you have one, cash for t-shirts (HipFit gear, of course), and a good variety of food. Also maybe a change of clothes for the ride home so you don't have to smell yourself for an hour and a half in the car after 7 wods. That last one is key for me, at least!

Also, WOD heats assignments are now posted at the NorCal 40s site.

Ari, you aren't showing up on my volunteer list. Please re-register, you should get a confirmation.
Donna, see http://crossfiteastsac.typepad.com/crossfit_east_sacramento/2011/12/tools-of-the-trade-the-ultimate-crossfit-gym-bag.html
...plus anything you need for comfort throughout the day, like a blankey or a stuffed animal.

Justin, I signed up the day you opened registration for CFES. I will sign-up again just to make sure, unless that will mess up your list.

Sweet, it looks like Nabeta and I are in the same heat for the 1.1 mile run with the weighted vest. Should be able to push each other pretty good and start the day off strong for the Hipfit clad CFES team.

Those HIPFIT team Shirts are awesome. When I grow up, I wanna wear one too.

I'd hate to miss all the fun on the bleachers but I registered for volunteering on Saturday. I didn't get confirmation e-mail though. Should I do it again?

Justin, I believe I registered to Judge at the Sac Throwdown, but, now that I'll be in the event, do I need to de-register???

Laura B and Olga, you guys are confirmed. John, don't worry about it.

If anyone is looking for a little female pit bull almost as cute and sweet as Alley, please contact Grateful Dog Day Care at 496-2901. Lucy is a pretty fawn color, well behaved, affectionate and good with people and cats, and has basic obedience training. If you're interested, I can forward you an email with a picture and more info.
