Push Press 5-5-5-3-3-3
4 Rounds:
Max Reps Feet Elevated Ring Row
200m Sprint
Open registration started on the 1st! We have a team registered and its time for you all to cough up 20 bucks and throw your hat in the ring.
For those of you new to this process, here's what's happening. The entire CF community will be competing at 5 workouts over 5 weeks. Every week a workout will be released, we will do the workout, you will enter your score into the on-line database, and we will validate your score. There are individual rankings, team rankings, and masters divisions.
The top ahtletes and teams will qualify to go to a regional competition where they will compete for a spot in the CF Games 2012. The top masters from the Open will qualify directly to the Games.
It is my goal that EVERY SINGLE ONE of our members regardless of age, fitness level or athletic ability participates in the Open this year. We will allow our members to scale the workouts where scaling is appropriate. Although scaling will eliminate you from qualifying to move on, you will still be allowed finish the 5 week competition, and you will know where you stand against the entire world of CF'ers.
Like last year, we will be making our Saturday WOD the weekly open workout. So even if you choose not to participate in the Open, you are still going to be forced to do the workouts. CF East Sac has always prided ourselves on our participation in these types of events. We believe that participating in the "Sport of Fitness" is an indespensible part of participating in CF as a fitness program. We have 200+ members, and I want to see 200+ Open participants.
To register, click on the image above and follow the process. After you register, on the right hand side of the web page, join our an affiliate, then join our team. Obviously you will choose CrossFit East Sacramento for both affiliate and team. If you don't sign up, you are going to be catching a bunch of shit from me and I will humiliate you into doing it by whatever means necessary. So lets save us all a bunch of grief and sign up now.
We are doing this together as a gym regardless of whether or not you actually register, so just do it.
I stole the above image from the actual CF Games page. Pretty cool how the picture they used is actually from one of the Open events that took place last year at our gym.

I believe I volunteered for the SacTown Throwdown. Is there a confirmation email that is going out to the volunteers with instructions? and if I've not signed up, can you add me to either list (volunteers / judges).

Hello CFES Family...
I am posting to let everyone know that my Land Park Rental is coming on the market March 1st and I need a tenant.
Its a 3bd, 1ba with a 2-car garage. I cover all city utilities and a weekly gardner service. Current rent is $1800/mo but might be willing to negotiate that if I can get someone in I know.
If you know of anyone looking please pass along my contact info...

Thanks Everyone.. Have a great Super Bowl Weekend.

Justin: since I registered for the open, am I allowed to say I am forging elite fitness?
Posted by: Scott | February 03, 2012 at 09:56 AM
Justin, I can help at the fairgrounds or Throwdown.
Posted by: Suzi | February 03, 2012 at 10:46 AM
What the hell. I'm in. No excuses for the real masters out there!

I think you should integrate a big, bright, "sign-up now" button across the CrossFit banner on the top of the page to encourage registration. That way it will be seen every day for sure. BTW, I did just register...

I registered a while back as a volunteer for the Throwdown. Justin, do you have me signed up? If not, count me in.

Heading to work for 3 days!
See you all on Monday!

The CF Games is saying that there are already 10,000 people signed up for the Open.
Posted by: Matt P | February 03, 2012 at 01:23 PM
The gym with the most members signed up will get free tickets to the games (as many as the amount registered) and the affiliate fee will be waived for life. There's some insentive for you guys.. And for the gym.

Scott, you are fucking elite.
Monica, I don't see you on the list. Go ahead and re-register.
Suzi, click the throwdown link, and follow the links to register as a volunteer.
10,000 and we have only 27 on our team. Bullshit peeps, get on it! Or I will cancel your membership.

I just registered.
Come on, if I can participate in these feats of strength, anyone can. ANYONE. There literally is no excuse. It'll be fun, a great short term goal: do each of the 5 workouts the best I can and have no regrets about my performance. Who's with me?!
Posted by: Jamie P | February 03, 2012 at 04:48 PM
I registered for the Open (AHHHH!) and to volunteer for the Throwdown.
Posted by: Suzi | February 03, 2012 at 05:16 PM
I signed up to volunteer at Throwdown, and got some generic email way back. Hope you got me on the list. Will work Sat. and Sunday as needed.
This "open" thing is sounding like out of control peer pressure. I will try for a 3-4 scores, but may miss 1-2 Saturdays.

I'm with you Jamie!!

A sucker like me is with you, Jamie P. I was duped that I'll do a pull up one day, and I still believe in it. So why not the Open too? No regrets 4sho!:)

I'm with everybody who's with Jamie! Out of control peer pressure rocks!
Justin: thanks!
