Rest day!
Amazing job an spirit shone by all who participated in a day that was truly awesome to watch! Spirit, as seen in these pics, effort that was shone in a video soon to come, and heart that words will never do justice are a small part of what is so cool in the newbie throwdown!
GREAT JOB COACHES AND ATHLETES! Thank you for being so dedicated to yesterday's successful program.

Yesterday was so fun! Thank you to Loren, Chris, and Travis for all of your time and efforts putting it on yesterday. I know it was a lot of work, but we all appreciate this unique opportunity to compete. I'm super proud of my team, Volume 11. You all gave 100%. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

I am so bummed to have to miss yesterday. I have already heard a couple awesome stories. Looking forward to seeing pictures and video and hearing more about the day. Thanks to Chris and Trav for hosting what sounded like another awesome event and thanks to Loren for stepping in and covering for me.

Great day yesterday. My team was awesome. We got 2nd in the first chipper and won the last chipper. Every athlete PR'd something during the course of the day. The WOD Quad was great. Thanks Kate, Picco and Robb!

Thank you for allowing some not-so-newbies to participate in yesterday's throwdown. Though the workouts were different, it was encouraging to note growth from this time last year. During the Newbie Throwdown chipper last year, I thought 55# thrusters were going to kill me. Yesterday, I got a thruster PR at 113#. Last year I needed a partner to flip a BFT during WODs, and yesterday I flipped it twice unassisted. Last year at Moxie Madness, John Michelmore and John Carey boosted me and Donna Shioya over a 6-ft. wall because we couldn't do it ourselves. Yesterday, I got myself up and over that wall 4 times. Thank you for creating an environment and community where we are constantly facing new challenges and supporting one another through them. Thank you Chris, Travis, and Loren for everything you did yesterday - you were troopers as much as we were! Blake, good luck in Solana Beach! And Justin, get well soon!

Feel free to edit my wake up at midnight and post via type pad mobile app. This while lying in bed and next to the steal teddy bear and some fluffy white dog/cat depending who you ask. For the record, Justin didn't post this. I think he knows how to spell shown! The best part is, I did it twice! It must be right then!
Great job to everyone and thank you all for coming out to participate in yesterday's event!

Anyone interested in doing Moxie Madness on Sept. 1st and possibly, 2nd? Registration opened today!!
Justin, are you sending teams? Each box can send 3 teams: Advanced, Novice and Masters (40+).
They've posted a list of movements from which they may base the workouts, if anyone's interested in checking that out:

Not sure what qualifies as novice, but the wods will be scaled. I did this last year and it was so fun! It was my first competition and it was great to be on a team.
Would LOVE to be on a team again this year . . . Masters or Novice (assuming novice means less than 18 months . . )
Anyone else game?

Well it was fun, right? The bruises will fade, but the memory of the bruises! Thanks Sabrina, Mike and Nick.
Jsully: best wishes in SF! See you at the last best place (that's Montana, for those who didn't know.)
