I got a Thera-Cane about 6 years ago when I was having some neck issues and it worked great to get out some of the knots and tightness that was casuing me to end workouts short and get severe headaches.
Many of us struggle with neck and upperback tightness and or knots/trigger points at some point. Foam rollers and lacrosse balls have their place and work fairly well, but this thing is the best tool you can get for the neck and upper back area. It comes with a user guide showing you how to use it on many body parts, but I have found that simple creativity works great for digging into those nasty trigger points that are hard to reach.
This simple tool has greatly helped me self treat strains and tweaks over the years and it is something that every household should have. One of the best ways you could ever spend 35 bucks.

This thing looks amazing. Thanks for posting Justin. How important is it for us to include trigger point work into our normal stretching, mobility, foam rolling, lacrosse ball work? Do we need to see a professional to help us identify trigger points that may have built up over the years, or can we just start digging w/ the above device to find the painful spots?

It's very important. I think professionals can be very helpful, but what you do yourself is probably more helpful and more important. None of us can afford to go to a massage every day, but we can hit our trouble areas daily for free. And yes, just start digging.
