5 Rounds For Time:
20 Pull Up
30 Push Up
40 Sit Up
50 Air Squat
Rest 3 min
This is about 1/4 of the volunteers we need for this years throwdown. Saturday has 5 events that will run from morning till early evening with 100 teams. We need about 120-130 volunteers who can give up their whole Saturday to make this event great for the athletes.
Our members here at CFES will be the brunt of the labor force, I need you! (or really anyone who might be reading this) If you can, please follow the links to volunteer. I know we aren't offering much, but volunteers will recieve a HIPFIT event shirt and beanie. They will be fed lunch and will be allowed a guest pass for a friend or family member to the event.
Saturday will be a 6:30AM to 5PM day for volunteers with a few scheduled breaks to eat. We need people that can be there all day. If you can't do that, we will also need people on Friday afternoon to help with setup, but no need to register if you plan to help on Friday. Saturday is the day I need the most help.
Please don't worry if you are intimidated to judge. Most of the workouts are set up in a way where you will be counting vs. judging. There are a few important judging positions, and we will find the right people who have good eyes and want to call out NO REP for those positions.
If you can and are willing to sign up for Saturday, please click the following link and register as a volunteer.
Thank you!

Is the throwdown this Saturday?

HEY 6:00am Class!!!
Calling Bull Shit on all of those Half Babs workouts this morning. No way you people should have done half the workout. Just because you are still asleep when you get to the gym is not an excuse.
Love,
-Ocho

Dear Ocho,
Thanks for the encouragment, but some of us have jobs and lives to get on with in the morning and can't spend two hours in the gym completing 100 pullups, 150 pushups, 200 situps and 250 air squats.
Hugs and kisses, 6 A.M.

6 am:
Warm up only took 20 min; Efficency, Efficiency..40 min max window and you are out of there. There are so many firebreathers in that class that could finish before 7.

I see a second annual Civil WOD-fare in our near future.

Okay, but only if you start the events at 6 a.m. and limit them to an hour and allow half-scaling for the 6 am crew. We gotta get to work on time.

Sabrina... that excuse would probably worked for someone else. You coulda killed Babs for good and then we'd never see her again. There's a big ole' blank spot on the wall of fame waiting for you on this one.
We had your Calvin, he went Rx and killed it.
You could always blow off half the warm up. Round one Rx got us sweating really good.

I decided to try out for the Biggest Loser next year and figured I needed to scale back my workload.
Posted by: matt brogan | January 08, 2013 at 02:50 PM
Okay, I'm out of excuses. I just really hate pushups. And Brogan wins the internets today.
Posted by: Steller | January 08, 2013 at 04:18 PM
Hmm... If I was in at 6am, I would have had to scale. Finishing Barbara at 10 minutes after the hour followed by the 10 minute post-WOD fetal position doesn't mesh with a regular work day.
Justin -- volunteering last year was a blast. Sorry I can't participate this year.

All I have to say is if "Barbara" is anything like "Murph" then I can see
why people scaled this WOD. Also, I would have worked out today
If I would have had some forethought and gotten on the computer
Last night to sign up for today's class.

Oh man, I'm so glad I have a cold...
I don't hate pushups, but 150 is too many of anything.

Yes, it sucked.
Viva la CF!
