Please read this post carefully and do your best to follow all directions. If something doesn't work, do not despair, we will help you get squared away. Please email questions or problems to billing@crossfiteastsacramento.com.
6AM type A's, please try this later today so you're not late to class this morning.
We have been working hard to get our software set up to start tracking your classes. Although everything isn't quite where we want it yet, it's time to start getting you all used to signing up for classes and figuring out what problems we still have.
Please start doing this for all your classes and help us work out the kinks this month. The goal is to have everything running smoothly by mid-February. For now if you have problems using the system, do not fret. We will help you get going and used to the new process which we beileve will help us run the gym much more effectively.
What to do...
Read all of this first!
Then come back to the top and click on the
<-----------------------
either here, or in the left side bar.
This will take you to the CrossFit East Sacramento Mind Body Online page.
From there you will need to gain access to your account.
Click on a class that you would like to attend.
You will see two options, "Been here before?" and "New to our site?"
If you already purchased a t-shirt pre-order, you will use the same login and password as you did for that in the "Been here before?" field. You will be able to start scheduling your classes.
If you have not logged in to Mind Body before, then you will fill in your first and last name in the "New to our site?" field.
Once you fill in your name, the system will pop up a link to your name and ask if this is you. Click the "this is me" link.
You will now be asked to provide your login email and password which will become your login for future scheduling. You will also be asked your address, zip code and mobile phone number to for security purposes to validate that you actually are who you say you are.
If you get all the questions right, you can start signing up for your classes. If not, you'll have to come talk to us and we will look you up and update your contact info.
You will be able to register for classes up to two weeks ahead of time, and eventually missed classed will have to be cancelled or they will count against your allotted classes.
This process is going to be better integrated into our website shortly, and we will hopefully be launching our mobile phone apps for you to start signing up that way very soon as well.
Please start using this system as much as possible and keep your eyes peeled for updates and upgrades to the site and system capabilities. All of this will help us serve you all better and you'll get the hang of it in now time.
Click here to download PDF instructions of the process with screen shots.
Justin, just out of curiosity, why are we trying out a new process for class attendance? Obviously we have a very different viewpoint than you do, but it doesn't seem like the just-show-up method was causing any huge problems ... So, what are you thinking here and how does it or will it "help us serve you better"?

I tried to login for a 5:30 class but it said, "We're sorry, but a service can not be purchased online for this program." Maybe I did something wrong.

Will classes be capped?
Eventually, how far in advance will we need to cancel a class?

Eric, the noon classes you come to are never really an issue. We have plenty of space, and equipment for the most part. However we have been wanting to make some changes to the foundations/level 1 structure for some time. There are a good percentage of our members who the current program isn't serving well.
When thinking about what adjustments to make to improve programs and schedules it will be helpful to have data. It will also help realize when people are falling off the wagon and get in touch with help them be successful.
In the evenings we have had problems with crowding and there need to be some changes. Having extra space is the main answer to that and we are lucky enough to be getting the dance studio.
As Garth said, "We fear change." and I understand that. This program is full of tools that will help us run a more efficient business. At first, for you all, it will seem like a burden to have to do something extra. But it will be easier and easier as you get used to it and as we roll out better calendars and phone apps to control scheduling.
As far as class caps, we don't anticipate people getting locked out of classes. If that becomes a problem, at least we will have data on it and be able to figure out how to deal with it. Maybe add more classes around that time or put a class down in the new space. We anticipate the program will naturally spread things out a bit as well. Some of our members have flexible schedules might decide to attend a less crowed class if they had the option and could see that ahead of time.
You won't have to do this every day. For now we have the limit set at 2 weeks out. That may or may not change as we see how it all works.
At the moment, many have not been able to successfully schedule a class. We will trouble shoot that ASAP, but for now we can manually add you to classes when you get here. Hopefully a month will be long enough to get it all dialed.
It is a waste of your time, breath and efforts to give us shit about this process, It's something that should have been in place since day 1. If it was in place Day 1, we'd already be running smoother than we are. This is the way 90% of successful CrossFit gyms are run and it's well overdue. We promise it will in time improve your experience and that's why it's going down. The better the client experience, the more successful the business. I understand many of you can't see that at the moment, but is is happening, it will eventually be strictly enforced. So your best bet is to give us constructive feedback on your experience.

BTW asking you which series or membership you'd like to purchase and only giving ON-Ramp as an option is a known issue for many. So if you get this one, we are working to solve the problem.

Thanks for the explanation ... to be clear, I wasn't "giving you shit" about the change. Normally you guys tend to like things pretty low-tech, so if you're making a change like this, there must be some sort of good reason for it and I just wanted to know what you hoped to gain in return for the headaches you're already having. It's really not big of a deal to sign up for classes ... any hope of integrating this with Beyond The Whiteboard or some other way of tracking individual WOD results?
